Thirty before thirty

photo from Blue Pool Road

Well friends, I have finally made the big move out of the place I have spent the last 2+ years filling with my craft projects. It feels good, and hectic and freeing and tiring. By the second day of it I had already reached the point where you are emptying whole drawers into boxes, throwing bobby pins in the trash, and shrugging your shoulders if something gets trashed/ broken/ doesn't fit through a doorway. I have long aspired to have less stuff and now I can finally say I am moving in that direction, and the people of Williamsburg have the freebies to prove it. Good karma I suppose.

In other news, I have realized that I am completely unprepared to turn 30. When people ask my age I still have to correct myself before I announce my inaccurate default number of 27. So what does one do when one feels unprepared? One makes a list. A to do list of sorts, to get me geared up. Some are things that define adulthood for me (making a perfect soufflé) while some are things you gotta get out of your system while you are still clinging to your 20s (go to Atlantic city). Others are next to impossible but seem interesting to strive for, and then there are some fillers that I don't really need to do by a certain deadline but just seem fun. I have roughly 7 months to get it all done and I might need to ammend the list if I get any reader suggestions that seem to fit the bill.. (hint, hint.) Friends, if you would like to sign up for any of the following I could always use some company and moral support (that elusive cartwheel is a toughie!)

This is a superb list.
I took a trapeze class in January because 2011 is my YEAR OF ADVENTURE. Let me tell you what terrifying is: IT IS TAKING A TRAPEZE CLASS. That being said, DO IT. It is amazing and your arms will hurt for a week but that's a small price to pay for being able to FLY.

I am intrigued by your "1000 paper crane" thing. If you want help and have a PO box so you don't have to send a creepy stranger your actual address, let me know; I can contribute. I am skilled in the art of crane-production.

GOOD LUCK!
